Week report –from ShiWudu’s fan.
Dec. 19th, 2020 11:45 amThere’re stories that we write just for pleasure and become more, there’re stories that left a mark upon us when they’re meant to be a caprice. I have a lot of those.
It’s been a too long time since I wrote a complete original novel –the last one The Light-Bearer, I think –so, I’m gonna talk about fanfiction only.
Quill and Steel. Chronicles of a rebellion. This one is one of my faves. Besides the ‘angels’ allegories’ with the wings and the rebellion (I… know), I’m still surprised about how I got to use a language almost grandiloquent, with rhythm and poetry. No, you don’t get to ‘see’ it in English ‘cos my English sucks; but in Spanish it is f*cking gorgeous, though it’s me telling it.
A star in the night. Besides the title from my favorite Blind Guardian’s song, Time Stands Still (at the Iron Hill), that sings Fingolfin’s battle against Morgoth and his death, this particular fic became more that I thought at the beginning. From a singular idea about Fëanor being deceived by Morgoth and Sauron for him becoming an Angband’s captain and feeling lust for Morgoth’s slave (Fingolfin, o.c.), this story ended almost as its own verse. I even played with the idea that Faenar was not the real Fëanáro, but an invention, a copy, made by Sauron, from the remnants of Fëanáro’s soul and the silmarils. In the end, I went for the *happy end*.
Misadventures of a monster. A midnight inspiration. I woke up to write a tweet and I ended with a whole verse (you just give me a finger and I’ll make you a complete universe in two hours: that’s my only talent in the world. And it’s useless.) From a children’s story (almost) I went to a wedding night between a human and a monster –the kind of monster that lives in your dresser or under your bed. Except that someone made a mistake this time and sent a nightmares’ commander to take care of a child. There’s no underage: I have… certain lines I don’t cross even in fiction.
(Thinking about this one, I have a weakness for evil creatures. Even my main characters are always past the line between good and evil. I don’t know: the Chaos, a traitor, Lucifer, a murderer, a criminal, a demon, the end of the world, a cursed demon prince, an avenger, a monster…)
The Moon behind the Glass. The origin of this particular telenovela omegaverse was me hating genderbender’s fics. Ok, I respect everyone’s works and choices, I just don’t like the idea of my beautiful boys becoming girls –or my Haleth becoming a strong man, oh no, sir, I won’t tolerate you destroy my most beautiful het ship and the first one from my Silmarillion’s night readings). Well, The Moon… is not from Silm’s fandom, it’s Modao’s. I wanted to write a typical love comedy with cheating in the night before the wedding, and unwanted pregnancy and love with a wonderful child included. What was amazing about this particular story is how people love to read about a woman –or omega, more exactly –being a single mother and convenience marriage becoming a love story. As I said, a telenovela. But, I enjoyed writing it –probably because the songs I used for the chapters.
And… I’m gonna leave it here and come back to write sexy times between my favorites elves – they have too few happiness left before world changes. Yes, I’m talking about Dance of Swords, another one that began as a caprice and has become its own verse and canon.
PS: sometimes, when you write erotica, don’t you feel like you’re writing some kind of anatomy essay? Or it’s just me? Don’t mind me.
